Review: Bad Granny Cider In the Flesh

by | Oct 3, 2018

Ever since #roséallday was declared a trending hashtag, rosé has been far from seasonal. Washington’s Bad Granny Cider knows that, releasing its In the Flesh rosé cider from red-fleshed apples just as autumn came onto the calendar. Tied to a tenured winery in the state’s thriving Lake Chelan appellation, Bad Granny takes a fruit-focused approach to its ciders with In the Flesh taking the same technique. Red flesh apples are pressed, fermented and aged in oak, pouring with a salmon-accented hue in a glass and popping with scents of strawberry and cream, watermelon, citrus peel and red currants. Candied red fruits and bold red apple fill the palate, in need of a little acid to counter the sweetness in berry flavors but finishing off-dry and fresh.
