In an abundance of renowned vineyards that have become the lifeblood of Sonoma County, Calif., Ace Cider holds its own. Since launching in 1993, the California Cider Company project has been no stranger to industry “firsts” and “bests.” Following the release of its original hard apple offering, Ace bottled the first ever California-made perry. In 2007, Ace Perry Hard Cider represented the growing American cider industry as “Best Bottled Cider” in the International Category of the U.K.’s Royal Bath and West Show. Four years later, the perry was awarded a gold medal at a Beverage Testing Institute cider tasting in Chicago, Ill.
At a relatively light five percent ABV, this perry is an ideal late afternoon refresher—a light, fruity alternative to cracking open a beer. Juicy pear is evident at every turn, from the nose to the mouth and the dry, semi-sweet finish. The light carbonation offers texture that further enhances the pear experience. All in all, this perry is easy to enjoy (ahem, chug) – bottle after bottle. Pick one up and taste the brand leader of U.S. pear ciders.
