Spiced Cider and Blueberry Lemondrop Showcase the Colorado Cidery’s Award-Winning Approach to Fruit and Flavor
Cedaredge, CO (August 17, 2026) – Snow Capped Cider, the women-owned, award-winning Colorado cidery known for its high-elevation orchard and innovative approach to cider, is bringing two new releases to cider drinkers nationwide. Spiced Cider and Blueberry Lemondrop offer two distinct takes on the category, from a seasonal expression built around traditional fall spices to a bright, fruit-forward cider made with local blueberries.
Snow Capped Cider has built its reputation by exploring the range of what can be done with cider, from single-varietal and barrel-aged expressions to specialty rosés, fruit ciders and more. That approach has earned the cidery some of the industry’s highest honors, including Midsize Producer of the Year at GLINTCAP for three consecutive years and a record 14 Best in Show awards in 2026. Snow Capped Cider was also the most-awarded cidery at the 2026 Cidercraft Awards, earning 24 medals across its portfolio.
“Having our own orchard gives us a lot of freedom to experiment,” said Williams. “We can work with so many different apple varieties and see what each one brings to the cider. These two releases are very different, but they both showcase what we love about working with our own fruit and continuing to try new things.”
Spiced Cider
Spiced Cider combines traditional fall spices with Snow Capped’s clean, estate-grown cider base. The result is a warm, flavorful cider that brings familiar spice notes to the can while maintaining the acidity and character of the apples. While its flavors capture the essence of fall, Spiced Cider is crafted to be enjoyed year-round.
Spiced Cider earned top recognition at the 2026 GLINTCAP awards, adding another best-in-class honor to Snow Capped’s growing list of competition wins.
Blueberry Lemondrop
Bright and refreshing, Blueberry Lemondrop pairs local blueberries with estate-grown apples for a crisp cider balanced by fresh acidity. The combination brings a vibrant fruit character to the cider without losing the structure of the apple base.
Blueberry Lemondrop was named a Judges’ Pick in the Fruit category at the 2026 Cidercraft Awards and earned a Silver medal at GLINTCAP 2026, further demonstrating Snow Capped’s range across both traditional and fruit-forward styles.
Both new releases are made entirely at Snow Capped’s estate in Cedaredge, where Williams grows fruit without chemical sprays or additives. At 6,130 feet in Colorado’s Surface Creek Valley, at the base of Grand Mesa, the orchard is among the highest-elevation cider orchards in the world. The combination of warm days and cool nights helps develop the acidity and complexity that have become hallmarks of Snow Capped’s ciders.
“We’re fortunate to have such a diverse orchard, and we’re always finding new ways to showcase it,” said Williams. “We want people across the country to experience what we’re growing here in Colorado and see just how much cider can do.”
Both ciders will roll into select retailers across Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and California this fall, and Spiced Cider will also be featured at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this October, giving festivalgoers an opportunity to experience one of Snow Capped’s newest releases alongside the country’s top craft beverage producers.
