East Meets West at Cider & Cheese Pairing Event

With apple harvest right around the corner, our mouths are watering in curious anticipation as to what delicious concoctions artisanal cideries across the states will delight us with next. On August 3, the SHED in Healdsburg, Calif., will give way to an event perfect for satiating our cider inspired thirsts – Kay Michaels, a cider enthusiast and cheesemonger from Eataly in NYC, and Ellen Cavalli, co-owner of Tilted Shed Ciderworks, will be joining forces to present an event on a trend that gives every foodie and average eater a smile: pairing ciders with artisanal cheeses.

Guests will be given six tasting-sized pours of select small batch ciders from the East and West coasts along with artisan cheeses expertly selected to pair with each specific cider. Local cider producers and a professional cheesemonger will provide participants a personalized tour through the tasting, allowing the them to revel in the glory these flavors have to offer and return home a knowledgeable cider enthusiast well equipped to impress all of their friends at their next dinner party.

This is truly an event that you do not want to miss but seating is limited, tickets are on sale now for $50. The Cider and Cheese Pairing Workship will be held from 3 – 5 pm and will feature West Coast locals Devoto Orchards Cider, Gypsey Cheese Co., Tilted Shed Ciderworks, Weirauch Farm & Creamery as well as the East Coast’s New Hampshire’s Farnum Hill Cider and New York’s Aaron Burr Cidery.
