A little bit of Hawaiian black lava salt goes a long way here and boosts all the sweet flavors for a delicious summer treat.
Makes 1 cocktail
1 ounce añejo tequila
¾ ounce key lime juice
½ ounce Cointreau
1 cup of premium strawberry ice cream
4 ounces Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Triple Jam Cider
Fresh or frozen berries
Optional key lime zest and a black lava salt rim
Rim a tulip or pint glass with Hawaiian black lava salt and set aside to set. Combine the tequila, lime juice and Cointreau in a shaker tin. Fill the tin ¾ full with ice, cap and shake to combine. Scoop out 2 to 3 scoops of your favorite strawberry ice cream into the glass, then strain the tequila mixture over and top with cider. Garnish with berries and key lime zest. Serve immediately.
