Sixknot Cider Gingerella

The Methow Valley (pronounced met-how) is burrowed in the foothills of the North Cascade mountain range, a popular recreational destination in north-central Washington State and one of the region’s main apple-growing regions. Many late-season varieties grow in these steep riverside orchards that see shorter growing days and cooler temperature. On the banks of the Methow River, outside the town of Twisp, is the family farm and cidery of Sixknot Cider. Certified organic apples — from the estate orchard and those up to snuff nearby — are fresh-pressed and fermented in a low-intervention, natural ciderhouse, producing certified organic, handcrafted cider as the result.

True to form, fresh-pressed organic ginger root is blended with the flagship organic cider for the Gingerella, a dynamically aromatic sip of fresh-sliced ginger, dusty earth, fallen apple and riffs of honeyed. The apple base is electrified with ginger spice yet soothed with the root’s cooling effect and the honeyed fruit on the off-dry palate.
