Fourth annual Oregon Zoo Foundation partnership supports animals at the zoo and wildlife around the world
CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Portland Cider Co. is welcoming the Oregon Zoo’s two new red pandas with a special-edition release of Pacific Berry featuring playful red panda artwork. The limited release is part of the cidery’s fourth annual summer partnership with the Oregon Zoo Foundation, giving cider fans a delicious way to support wildlife throughout July and August.
During the two-month campaign, a portion of proceeds from every Portland Cider 4- or 6-pack sold at participating retailers across Oregon and Southwest Washington will be donated to the Oregon Zoo Foundation. The funds will help provide extraordinary daily care for animals at the zoo while supporting species-saving conservation efforts in the Pacific Northwest and around the world.
“We look forward to partnering with the Oregon Zoo Foundation every summer, and this year’s collaboration might be our cutest yet,” said Jeff Parrish, co-owner of Portland Cider Co. “The arrival of two new red pandas gave us a great excuse to design a special can in their honor to welcome them to Oregon.”
The special-edition Pacific Berry release celebrates Enoki, the first of the Oregon Zoo’s two new red pandas. The 16-ounce cans feature a red panda wrapped around Portland Cider’s signature apple logo, surrounded by colorful bamboo leaves.
Pacific Berry is a luscious blend of Northwest-grown marionberries, raspberries, and apples. Jam-packed with juicy berry flavor and vibrant aromatics, the 6.5% ABV cider is refreshing and balanced, with just the right combination of sweet and tart.
The special-edition Pacific Berry is available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans at the Oregon Zoo and select retailers throughout the Portland Metro area, while supplies last. A portion of proceeds from Pacific Berry supports animals at the Oregon Zoo and in the wild.
“Gifts to the Oregon Zoo Foundation make exceptional animal care and vital conservation work possible,” said Justin Vierela, Director of Development at the Oregon Zoo Foundation. “This partnership gives people a fun and meaningful way to welcome the zoo’s new red pandas while helping protect wildlife here in the Pacific Northwest and around the world. We’re grateful to Portland Cider and everyone who raises a cider for the animals this summer.”
The fundraiser is not limited to Pacific Berry. Throughout July and August, purchases of participating Portland Cider 4- and 6-packs at select retail locations across Oregon and Southwest Washington will also generate donations to the Oregon Zoo Foundation.
Cider fans can find participating retailers and locate the special-edition Pacific Berry using Portland Cider’s online Cider Finder.
