Holiday Cider for a Cause: EastBurn Ciderfest

by | Nov 30, 2015

At Portland, Oregon’s the EastBurn, cider is a just cause for giving this holiday season. The Portland public house—name for the neighborhood where it resides—celebrates its second annual cider festival this Saturday starting at 4 p.m. The event held at the bar and restaurant will include cider samples from more than a dozen cideries, a Ciderfest pint glass and live music for a festive seasonal gathering.

The fest honors the ciders produced in the Northwest and beyond while benefiting Toys for Tots, the national foundation that raises funds to provide toys for children around the country. For a fee of only $10, patrons receive five tokens to sample select ciders and five bonus tokens per toy are handed to guests who bring unwrapped presents for children in need. Additional tokens are available for purchase at the door as well.

Featured pours including ciders from Oregon natives Atlas Cider, Swift, Portland Cider Co., Wandering Aengus, Red Tank, Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider and 2 Towns Ciderhouse, along with a few guests from Washington and around the country.

Live music will be held upstairs in the dining room while a the DJ spins in the taproom. A raffle for added amusement will be present as well. Dance and sample revered ciders till “the cider runs out,” all for a cause that couldn’t be more timed for the holiday season.
