Cideries Continue to Give Back

by | Apr 2, 2018

Grab a cold one and make that next toast for a worthy cause! We’re back with another set of cideries that give back to their communities, local charities and all-around good feels.

The Cidery: Blake’s Hard Cider
The Cider: Blossom Eater
The Feel-Good Details: Save the Bees with this (almost) sweet as honey cider. Blake’s, Michigan’s largest craft cider company, just released its Blossom Eater in partnership with The Honeybee Conservancy and the Detroit-based Bees in the D. The cider base is infused with apple blossom honey, jasmine and bergamot orange and is only available for a limited time, so pick up a six-pack while the flowers are still blooming and cheers to the busy bees.

The Cidery: Swilled Dog
The Cider: WV Scrumpy
The Feel-Good Details: While some cideries stick to one charity, Swilled Dog has chosen many. With proceeds from the Scrumpy, the cidery has donated to organizations such as Alzheimer’s Association of Charleston, Humane Society of Parkersburg, Project PAWS, SPARK! Science Center and Rosenbaum Family House. The cider is made out of apples from the cidery’s home in West Virginia, taking donations from friends and neighbors to produce this community blend.

The Cidery: Big Apple Hard Cider
The Cider: SoHo
The Feel-Good Details: Inspired by the #GenLove harvest event, an event intended to inspire millennials to give back to the community, Big Apple Hard Cider decided to take their giving one step further. Proceeds from the sour cherry SoHo cider are donated to God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that helps those who can’t shop or cook for themselves in the New York City metropolitan area.

The Cidery: Potter’s Craft Cider
The Cider: The Haven
The Feel-Good Details: A Belgian Trappist-style cider with rich flavor and good intentions to bring more awareness to homelessness in the community in Charlottesville, Virginia. Potter’s Craft Cider donates proceeds from this Belgian-style cider (with dark candi syrup, fitgs and coriander) to the shelter that holds its namesake. The Haven is a day-shelter in Charlottesville, providing a safe space for homeless people in the area.
