From the Vermont maker’s Harvest Cider line of canned offerings, 15 different heirloom apple varieties are pressed, fermented cold and slow, then infused with red currant juice. Check Google Images for confirmation but this cider in the glass is a perfect color match to the vibrantly red berry. The nose is full of that scarlet gooseberry’s scent, with earth and thyme enticing the sense. Bold berry fruit of red currant and tart cranberry fuse with green apple, turned earth, a lick of tannin and crisp, lingering acidity in the finish. Drink all summer long.
