After 30 years of brewing beer, British Columbia’s Spinnakers BrewPub has decided to add on cider. The brewery (and its charming guesthouses) is located in the heart of the province’s capital city, Victoria, primed in its position of a thriving Canadian cider scene. Its first foray onto this scene is with the House Dry Apple Cider, a blend of Gala, Granny Smith, Spartan, Golden Delicious and Jonagold apples sourced from the fourth-generation family-run De Simone Farms in the Okanagan Valley.
“An apple a day… Cause, well, that’s just what they say (can’t argue with ‘they’)” states the label, and, really, who can argue with “they?” Ultra-fresh with bright, dry and somewhat sour aromatics sure to revive any dormant nose, the palate is equally clean, crisp and tangy, excelling in refreshment and just asking for a patio to sip on.
