Son of Man Natural Cider Named Official Cider of the Portland Pickles

by | May 13, 2026

Oregon’s premier natural cider brings its crushable, no-BS cider to the ballpark. This summer, baseball fans can wash down their peanuts and crackerjacks (and a pickle or two) with orchard-to-glass Son of Man cider.

PORTLAND, OR — The Portland Pickles, the beloved collegiate summer baseball team and a cultural cornerstone of the Rose City, today announced a partnership with Son of Man Natural Cider, naming the Columbia Gorge-based cidery as the Official Cider of the Portland Pickles. Beginning this season, Son of Man ciders will be available at Walker Stadium. Throughout the summer season their premium, adjunct-free cider will fill the bleachers, quenching sunburned fans’ thirst.

Son of Man was founded on a straightforward premise: American drinkers deserve a cider made with care, low intervention, and free of the gimmicky adjuncts so commonplace in commercial cider. Son of Man ciders are light, bone dry and bright making them perfect for a summer ballgame. They are also made exclusively with Oregon-grown cider apples from farms Son of Man has worked with for years – no juice concentrate or nebulous “Northwest Apples” in sight.

“What do you want on a hot July day while you enjoy America’s pastime? I guess besides an ice cold lager?” Jasper Smith, Son of Man co-founder, says with a smile. “I want a bright, refreshing cider and I think other people do, too. Our natural cider is made well, but that doesn’t mean it is fancy. We first fell in love with Basque ciders in part because they’re cheaper than bottled water in Spain. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to charge so little here, but our partnership with the Pickles reiterates that we make cider to be enjoyed. At the game, in the sun, by everyone. The Pickles get that. Walker Stadium is exactly where Son of Man should be.”

The partnership is a deliberate statement. Son of Man’s low-ABV lineup is tailor-made for the long arc of a summer baseball game, sessionable enough to quaff throughout nine innings, refreshing enough to make you forget you already had two hot dogs. The Portland Pickles’ irreverent energy and commitment to making baseball accessible and fun has cultivated a die-hard local fanbase. They are a natural ally for a brand on a mission to democratize natural cider. Both organizations believe that quality shouldn’t come with a velvet rope.

Son of Man Natural Cider will be available at Walker Stadium throughout the 2025 Portland Pickles season. Find Son of Man year-round at New Seasons, Whole Foods, local co-ops, and select Portland bars, restaurants, and bottle shops.

About Son of Man Cider

Son of Man makes natural cider in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge using 100% Oregon-grown cider apples. Working closely with four Oregon farms growing some of the finest cider apple varieties in the country, Son of Man presses during the fall harvest at their Cascade Locks facility. Their cider ferments and slowly ages for six months. They never use juice concentrate and never add artificial malic acid, flavor adjuncts or sugar. The ciders, inspired by Spanish Basque Country, are dry, tart, and alive and should be enjoyed alongside great food. Just apples and time. Follow @sonofman.co
