Community Events, Charitable Partnerships, & Small-Batch Pride Releases

(Albany, N.Y.) – Nine Pin, New York’s first farm cidery, is celebrating Pride Month with community events, charitable partnerships, and the return of Disco Berry.

Launching Monday, June 1, exclusively in Nine Pin’s Albany Tasting Room, Disco Berry is a limited-edition bright pink berry cider made by co-fermenting apples and strawberries from Samascott Orchards, blackberries from Bowman Orchards, and blueberries from West Wind Farm. Finished with edible glitter, the cider was created as a celebration of visibility, self-expression, and showing up fully as yourself. Disco Berry will be available on draught and in 750ml bottles while supplies last.

A portion of Disco Berry proceeds will support OutHudson, an organization working to uplift and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community of Columbia County and beyond through visibility and advocacy. Nine Pin has supported OutHudson since 2019.

“Disco Berry is meant to feel joyful,” said Alejandro del Peral. “The glitter is part of that. It stands out. Pride Month is about creating space for people to do the same. We’re proud to make something that brings people together while also supporting this important community organization.”

To celebrate the release of Disco Berry and kick off Pride Month, Nine Pin will host its annual Pride Drag Show on Monday, June 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in its Albany Tasting Room. Hosted by Typhoid Mary and featuring performances by Natalie Taylor and Rosetta Stoned, the free show has become a favorite Pride Month tradition for the cidery and its community. Seating is first come, first served.

Nine Pin will also continue its support of In Our Own Voices, a leading Capital Region organization serving LGBTQ+ people of color. This year, inspired by the LGBTQ+ BIPOC community, Nine Pin and In Our Own Voices have collaborated on the creation of an all-new custom cider. “Loud and Proud” is a vibrant, layered cider infused with berries, blood orange, and fresh ground ginger.

Nine Pin is donating its Loud & Proud cider to be served at In Our Own Voice’s 20th Say It Loud! BIPOC Pride festival in Washington Park on Saturday, June 13 from 12 to 5:00 p.m. Guests can also support the organization throughout the month of June by ordering the Roy G. Biv cocktail in Nine Pin’s Tasting Room.

For Nine Pin, Pride Month is an opportunity to collaborate with local organizations, support the community, and showcase the creativity of cidermaking.

Cider enthusiasts can enjoy Nine Pin’s fresh-pressed hard ciders seven days a week in its Tasting Room located in Albany’s increasingly popular Warehouse District, at retailers across New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, and at bars and restaurants that carry Nine Pin products. Nine Pin’s online store serves fans throughout New York and across the United States.
