In Preview: The Core Pour

by | Nov 12, 2015

What better way to get your exercise in than with a cider walk in the crisp fall air? Downtown Santa Paula, California may just be the place for that this Saturday, November 14th, when the city holds The Core Pour hard cider tasting walk. Featuring more than 20 cider tasting locations, the inaugural event will no doubt make for a scrumptiously cider-filled Saturday.

“The Core Pour is not only about bringing delicious cider to Santa Paula,” says Core Pour co-organizer Mark Rasmussen. “It is about giving back to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars USA) as these are the core people who fought for our freedom.” A portion of the ticket sales will benefit both the VFW and America in Bloom, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting clean environments and volunteerism via nationwide colorful plants and trees.

Vets were able to snag discounted tickets for just $15 on Veteran’s Day this year, reduced from the general price of $45. Although for all others, the $45 ticket is worth the countless tastings, special food pairings and priceless autumnal bliss from 1—5 p.m.

If the giving spirit has got you good, you can donate a little extra and purchase a VIP ticket for $100. This will grant you exclusive access to the VIP Harvest Lounge, where you’ll be greeted with Champagne flutes, cider and dessert tastings, to name a few perks. Then, from 5—6 p.m., VIP guests will experience an after party blues concert plus two complimentary drinks along with bites.

With either admission, be sure to hit up all the tasting stations because the ciders are bound to be unbelievable, and why not take advantage of grabbing up to two samples from each participant? Also, bring the whole family because non-alcoholic cider will be on hand for kids, plus prizes for devout sippers. Regardless of your choice of ticket, The Core Pour is sure to be the start of a delicious tradition.
