Thank goodness Dry January is almost over — it’s time for the cider festivities to pick back up again! Here are a few to find on your planner this February.
Pour the Core: Baltimore | Baltimore | Feb. 2
Squeeze every last drop out of Baltimore’s upcoming cider festival. Pour the Core will feature 27 local and international ciders and the festival benefits the venue, B&O Railroad Museum, where guests can take in the oldest collection of railroad history in America. This event is 21+ and designated drivers get a reduced ticket price for only $12. General admission starts at $50.
Chicago Cider Week | Chicago | Feb. 12-18
Get out and about the windy city for Chicago’s Cider Week. Restaurants and bars will hold tastings across the city. Each day will differ from the last, for instance on Feb. 14 The Native will host a Prohibition-themed costume contest in its downtown tavern. Think flapper girls and smooth-talking gangsters. Ticket prices vary by event.
Cider Summit | Chicago | Feb. 17
Join in on the sixth annual Cider Summit. The day-long festival will feature more than 150 local and international apple-y beverages. The event is for those 21-and-over and will include food from local favorites like Doughnut Vault. Tickets start at $35.
Gathering of the Farm Cideries | Albany, NY | Feb. 17
Explore cider from every corner of New York State at the fourth annual Gathering of the Farm Cideries. The event will feature 17 farm cideries from Ithaca to Johnstown. The half-day festival will be held on the production floor of Nine Pin Cider and a portion of the proceeds benefit the New York Cider Association. Tickets through Eventbrite are $25, $30 at the door.
Vermont Cider Week | Throughout Vermont | Feb. 23- March 4
This statewide cider week has the added benefit of venues all over Vermont which means patrons are bound to find a new favorite. For a full week, the festival will feature 18 different local cideries, boasting something for the consumer and the maker alike, like increasing prominence of great local ciders.
