Review: Starcut Ciders Bucket

by | Jan 23, 2019

This modern line of ciders — and sister brand to Short’s Brewing Co. in Bellaire, Michigan — narrows in on unique blends based on in-state apples, striving to keep most of what they source within their own Antrim County. StarCut Ciders takes a cue from its brewing counterpart with clear, clean and expressive packaging, including six-pack bottles and cans, that whisper sweet nothings into the ears of their beer consumers, seducing them to come over to the cider side. Semi-dry, fermented with black currants and aged with oak chips, the deeply red-hued Starcut Ciders Bucket is a winter seasonal that checks all the boxes: roasty apple, dark berry, spiced vanilla, tart acid and a clean, yet honeyed finish. Beer drinkers be warned of the beguiles of these ciders.
