Outside CiderCON: Events for All

The 2016 CiderCON is right around the corner and will be taking place in Portland, Oregon, February 2 to 6 at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower. Although registration is closed for the conference itself (and exclusive to trade), there are lots of other events happening around the city. And guess what? They all have one thing in common: cider. And lots of it. We’ve rounded up five events we’d recommend checking out.

Tap Takeover at Bailey’s Taproom || Feb. 2, noon—11:59 p.m.
Bailey’s Taproom is the open every day from noon until midnight during CiderCon. Bailey’s is just a short walk away from CiderCON. Tons of local craft beer and four different Reverend Nat’s ciders will be on tap.

NWCA Tap Takeover at Green Dragon || Feb. 2, 6-10 p.m.
You must be registered for CiderCON to attend this event. $2 Northwest ciders, a taco bar, pork sliders and more than 15 Northwest Cider Association members are attending? The NWCA Tap Takeover at the Green Dragon has it all. Mingle with Northwest cider producers and make sure to come both hungry and thirsty to this event.

Northwest Cider Brokers CiderCON Celebration || Feb. 3, 5-8 p.m.
The Civic Taproom and Bottle Shop have teamed up to offer some amazing Oregon cider to both cider lovers and cider producers alike. All of the Northwest Cider Brokers cider brands will be available to taste at this CiderCON Celebration; in addition there will be a few special limited releases for all of those who attend.

CiderCON Closing Night Rare Cider Party || Feb. 5, 4-11 p.m.
Reverend Nat’s, Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Alpenfire, Far Afield, Baird & Dewar Farmhouse, Apple Outlaw are all confirmed to be pouring rare ciders at the CiderCON Closing Night Party at Rev. Nat’s taproom. Food will be available for purchase and provided by Gonzo Falafel. Twelve taps will be in rotation throughout the night making sure there is plenty of cider to go around for all.

Skimmity Hitchers live at Cider Riot! || Feb. 5, 8:00pm to 11:59pm
Skimmity Hitchers, a Scrumpy & Western band from the West Country in England, will be playing at Cider Riot! for the first time. The band will be performing at the cidery’s new location in Portland. Local bands will be supporting and local Northwest ciders will be pouring. Some of the selected producers include: Oliver’s Cider and Perry, Cranbourne Chase Cider, New Forest Traditional Cider Company, Talbot Harris Cider Company and Fueled by Cider.
