Review: Windfall Cider Hail Mary Rosé Cider

by | Apr 30, 2019

After launching last year with a singular cider, Windfall Cider is back with a second flagship product: the Hail Mary Rosé Cider. The Vancouver, British Columbia, cidery works with local farmers to source all of the apples for Windfall’s production, and in the case of Hail Mary, a dozen are blended together with Western Canadian Saskatoon berries for a vibrant blush color and tartness in fruit. The berries also put forth texture, a little bit of tannin and some added acid to the apple bill of McIntosh, Granny Smith, Spartan, crab apples and other varieties. The nose sports aromas of fuzzy peach, honeyed apple, rose petal and raspberries, leading into a sweet-tart palate of juicy fruit and tangy mouthfeel, finishing off-dry and green in apple and melon.
