by | Apr 3, 2024

(Beacon, NY, April 2, 2024) – The New York Cider Association is thrilled to announce it has launched the first ever, official New York Cider Trail App for both iPhone and Android devices. The app features all members of the Association and is designed to provide hard cider seekers a tool to locate the vast array of cideries across New York State, map out their very own trail to visit those cideries, and explore all that’s great about NY Cider. The New York Cider Trail App gives users the ability to search for NY Cideries by region and plan their trips including driving directions and links to each of the cideries. The app is available for free on both Apple and Android mobile devices. Simply search “NY Cider” in your app store and download. There is also a desktop version and can be used by visiting www.newyorkcider.visitwidget.com.

“New York is truly a state of cider and there’s no better way to explore all of the amazing ciders that this state offers than by planning your trip and meeting the makers, tasting their ciders, and experiencing each of these incredible cideries for yourself first-hand. We’re so excited to be launching this app for all mobile devices so cider seekers can create their very own NY Cider experiences!” says Scott Ramsey, Executive Director, New York Cider Association.

Directly tied to New York’s agricultural cash crop of apples, cider in New York has seen an unprecedented growth explosion of over 2400% over the past ten years and now has a $1.7 billion total economic impact to the NY state economy. With over 125 licensed producers making over 5 million gallons of cider every year, New York continues to lead the country in the number of active cideries and second for apple growers.
