Citizen Cider Cidre Bourgeois

by | Jun 29, 2016

What do you get when a wine salesman, a chemist and a farmer unite? In this case, a cidery – Citizen Cider, formed by Justin Heilenbach, Bryan Holmes and Kris Nelson in 2010. Quickly successful with what began as a hobby, the trio outgrew their small production space in Essex, Vermont, and eventually opened shop, seven miles west, in Burlington. A variety of canned and bottled ciders thrive today, ranging from single varietal offerings to barrel-aged and more.

For your European-inspired hummus, cured meats and hard cheese platters, crack open Citizen Cider’s Cidre Bourgeois, a sipper crafted with organic fruit from Pearson Road Farms in New Haven, Vermont. Created in honor of the state’s infamous “Mr. Bourgeois,” this one is befittingly exclusive. Complement flavorful, savory foods with a cider that has a bite – snappy apple blends with floral aromas to offer the perfect pair.
