Gear up for the summer season with these late-spring events for your cider agenda. Largely taking place in New York’s Hudson Valley and Oregon, cider is active this spring from coast to coast.
Cider Week GR
May 12-18
One of America’s top apple-producing states, Michigan hosts its week-long cider event in honor of the local cider scene in downtown Grand Rapids. Drink a regional cider paired with cheese, satisfy your sweet tooth with a caramel apple or make a fun date night out of tasting new ciders. Get acquainted with all of the local producers and sip a ciders that you’ll only find in Michigan with the wide variety ofevents. The Great Lakes Cider and Perry Competition also goes down during this week, May 15-17. Although it is not open to consumers, it is the world’s largest cider judging event where many medals will be awarded to ciders for you to add to your shopping list.
Hudson Valley Cider Festival
June 1
Visit The Hudson Valley Cider Festival at Barton Orchards in Poughquag, New York, for a day-long cider event, sponsored by Angry Orchard and Doc’s Draft Hard Cider. The one-day fest features the annual Cider Fest 5k, plus the tasting portion of the festival with over 40 ciders from well-knowns to limited-batch and food vendors. Cider enthusiasts can spend the afternoon drinking, eating, running and having fun in the valley.
Cider Week Hudson Valley
June 7-16
Keeping its focus on the Hudson Valley, Cider Week Hudson Valley host its own 10-day festival to kick off late-spring cider enjoyment. The week initially started because of a collaboration between American and French cider producers, though it now mainly features orchard-based producers and ciders through myriad of cider tastings, tap takeovers, pub crawls and culinary events like the Father’s Day Pig Roast at Brooklyn Cider House in New Paltz.
Oregon Cider Week
June 20-30. 2019
The annual Oregon Cider Week returns for a full 11 days of regional cider goodness. The statewide affair features local cider producers from Oregon and beyond, encouraging cider lovers to visit, make a week out of it or a day trip. Multiple events will be happening from tap takeovers and cidermaker dinners to live music and the fan-favorite Portland Cider Summit to start it off.

June 21-22
The biggest cider fest in the country kicks off Oregon Cider Week, Cider Summit goes down Portland, Oregon, at Fields Neighborhood Park. For two days, the region’s largest cider tasting festival features close to 200 ciders with producers manning booths splashing their best tastes. Check out the Oregon cider scene (and beyond) and spend a summer afternoon with a refreshing beverage.
