Cider Harmony in Autumn Events

by | Aug 22, 2016

Come October, cider will be bountiful due to another round of cider festivals which quickly approach. Cider crafters strewn across North America all bring new ideas to the table, but they’re all joined through one common love: apples. Get ready for the fall season the right way by making sure cider stays on your menu.

Milwaukee Cider Fest || Milwaukee, WI || October 1 || Three ounce cups are filled all day with many of Milwaukee’s finely tuned brewers and cidermakers that make Milwaukee Cider & Nano Beer Fest a taste to remember. Unlimited sampling of 40+ ciders with live entertainment make this festival located on Schlitz Park one to visit again in the future.

Cider Week Finger Lakes || Ithaca, NY || October 1-9 || Cider-friendly locations surrounding the Finger Lakes all come together and open up their venues to craft a cider comeback where markets, pubs, restaurants and farms display everything that make the delicious drink. Hit up a tap-takeover or two, venture out to the farm for an on-site dinner or buy at your favorite retailer to support the cause from the comfort of your home.

Pour the Core Philly || Philadelphia || October 15 || Join fellow fanatics as you drink and learn about cider all day at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The cider in attendance comes from many local makers, but also from best-selling national brands as well, with even a few imports from Spain and England. Find what you love, from local and beyond, at this fourth annual festival, complete with live music and food trucks to nourish the cider-soaked.

Cider Week NYC || New York City || October 21-30 || Make your way around the city to indulge in cidermakers’ creations both recognizable and those you’ve never seen before. The craft cider celebration hits the Big Apple with apple-focused tastings, dinners, classes, seminars and more events through the city for nine days of cider.

The Festival (Shelton Brothers) || Louisville, Kentucky || October 28-29 || It’d be hard to imagine missing out on an opportunity to meet and greet great artisanal beer, spirits, cider and mead creators from throughout the country. Put on by beverage import guru Shelton Brothers, the tenured drink supporter did the hard work finding and traveling to bring the best sips straight to you.
