2 Towns Ciderhouse Co-Founder Aaron Sarnoff-Wood Honored with Excellence in Leadership Award

by | Feb 20, 2025

Corvallis, Ore โ€“ Feb 20, 2025 โ€“ 2 Towns Ciderhouse announced that Co-Founder & VP of Sales, Aaron Sarnoff-Wood, has been awarded the Excellence in Leadership Award by the American Cider Association. This prestigious honor is given annually to an individual who has made a significant and lasting impact on the cider industry.

Sarnoff-Woodโ€™s advocacy has helped shape policies critical to the future of craft cider. His work in defending Oregonโ€™s cider and craft beverage producers from excessive taxation under the HB 3610 Task Force on Alcohol Pricing and Addiction Services was instrumental in preventing an industry-wide tax increase. As one of only two industry representatives on the task force, he exposed misleading claims and ensured that policymaking remained data-driven and transparent.

His leadership also extends to federal legislation, where he played a key role in securing support for the Bubble Tax Modernization Act of 2024 during U.S. Representative Val Hoyleโ€™s visit to 2 Towns Ciderhouse. This important measure seeks to modernize outdated taxation laws that unfairly penalize craft cidermakers for using additional fruit and carbonationโ€”barriers that have long stifled innovation and growth in the industry.

Sarnoff-Wood expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating,โ€œIโ€™m truly honored to receive this award and to be part of such a dynamic industry. Thereโ€™s still important work to be done, but the future of cider has never been more exciting.โ€

โ€œThe cider industry has grown in ways we never could have imagined when we started 2 Towns Ciderhouse over 14 years ago,โ€ said Lee Larsen, president and CEO of 2 Towns Ciderhouse. โ€œAaronโ€™s dedication to the industryโ€”from championing fair taxation to driving policies that foster innovationโ€”has played a crucial role in shaping its future.โ€

BIG NEWS from @finnriver today!

Finnriver Unveils Canned Craft Cider Made with 100% Organic Fruit.

The Pacific Northwest's first B Corp certified cidery, announces the launch of two premium craft ciders in convenient can format. The new offerings, debuting in April 2025, extend Finnriver's commitment to making craft cider from 100% organic fruit as accessible as possible.

The initial release features two of Finnriver's most popular varieties:

Bloom (6.5% ABV) - Semi-dry, fruity and bright. Crisp, organic Washington apples meet sweet, organic blueberries, which give this sparkling cider a lovely purple hue.

Blush (6.5% ABV), Dry, crisp and light. Tart, organic Washington apples meet organic black currants in this beautiful, pink sparkling cider.

โ€œWashington State grows more than 85% of organic apples in the U.S., yet thatโ€™s rarely reflected in canned ciders. We saw a lack of premium craft ciders in cans in the market, and knew we could fill that niche,โ€ says Amanda Oborne, Finnriverโ€™s CEO. โ€œWith an organic orchard and a cidermaking team that sources all organic, local and wildcrafted ingredients, sustainability is paramount to us,โ€ continues Oborne. โ€œBy putting our values-driven products in cans, we make them accessible to a much broader community of responsible, discerning drinkers.โ€ Finnriver is a certified B Corp cidery known for innovating farmcrafted blends using all organic juice, berries and wild foraged botanicals.

Both varieties will debut in late March with full market rollout beginning April 2025.

What pairs best with this tropical delight?
Spicy tacos ๐ŸŒฎ, grilled seafood ๐ŸŸ, Caribbean flavors, and BBQ straight off the grill. Honestly, though, it pairs perfectly with sunshine and good vibes.
