As you embark on your summer bucket list, we are adding a few more musts and highlighting what not to miss this season, starting with cider, naturally. While the warm weather can be limited, that means some of our favorite sips are too. Get your hands on these seasonal releases to accompany you on your summer adventures.
Companion | Citizen Cider | New to the Citizen Cider roster is this season tipple. As it turns out, apple trees and tart cherry trees make for, well, great companions. Originally just a stray thought among the cidermakers at Citizen Cider, the two complement each other just as well in the can as they do in the orchard. Topped off with cherry juice from Montmorency and sour cherries from Balaton, the red-and-white-checkered can will be the only treat you need for your picnic.
Ironbound | Jersey Cider Works | Raise a glass to New Jersey: responsible for the bold, fresh taste of Jersey Cider Works’ new Ironbound cider. The seasonal cider is made from fresh-pressed Jersey apples with a hint of black tea and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Yes, you read that correctly – Ironbound might even cure that pesky cold you’re fighting.
Berry | Seattle Cider Co. | Summertime in Seattle means the return of the Emerald City’s Berry cider. Seattle Cider Co. encompasses all the flavors of the season to create the refreshing taste of this semi-dry, tart cider. A blend of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, we will just imagine that Seattle Cider’s Berry is just as good for your body as it is the soul.
Prickly Pear | 2 Towns Ciderhouse | Oregon’s 2 Towns Ciderhouse is calling their Prickly Pear Cider a “taste bud oasis,” and for good reason. Crafted from Northwest apples, prickly pear cactus fruit and, new to this year’s release, watermelon, the taste is just as vibrant and unique as the combination. While the cider is a seasonal release, don’t worry about missing it on store shelves – the multi-colored label is quite the standout.
