For more than 30 years, the folks behind Snowdrift Cider Co. have been growing apples and pears along the basalt cliffs of East Wenatchee, Washington. The past seven of them have been devoted to the “nano-cidery” that developed out of this passion, and the French, English and old American inspirations that nudged it along. Per the cold and snowy winters in Wenatchee, the cidery’s name was set. Since then, Snowdrift ciders have embodied the chilly winters during which they age in hibernation, evolving into the warmth of upcoming seasons with each sip.
The Snowdrift Perry uses the French methode champenoise to achieve its sparkling wine character and full, rich palate, all the while maintaining the distinct tartness familiar to perrys. Crafted from old-world perry pear varietals grown in the central Washington locale, the honeyed yet surprising rose-hued and gripping sipper is ideal for the perry pundit or peruser.
