Vander Mill began as a cider mill in 2006 with modest intentions: to create a homey cider-centric gathering place. But the cidery has quickly developed into something larger – about 400% larger than its original production, to be exact. In light of the cidery’s growth, Vander Mill also joined in on Michigan’s food scene, with a full-on kitchen where delicious cider concoctions and pairings are purveyed, including a salad made with Michigan-grown apples, cider-battered cheese curds, a variety of handmade pizzas, weekly Sunday brunch and more. The cidery is clearly making nothing less than bold moves.
Speaking of bold, Vander Mill Blue Gold is indeed a bold can o’ blue and gold, crafted from semi-sweet cider and blueberries from Western Michigan. With a befitting gold hue and lightly carbonated zing, the scrumpy is a unique and easy-to-sip treat.
