EDEN CIDERS LAUNCHES NEW SMALL BATCH ‘TRAIL SIDER’

by | Jul 17, 2024

Newport, VT – July 17, 2024: Eden Specialty Ciders, a leading U.S. producer of hand-crafted harvest and ice ciders, is excited to launch a new small batch canned cider “Trail Sider”.  Trail Sider is a sour cider blended with raw honey from Northwoods Apiaries in Westfield, VT and infused with fresh lemon balm from Wilson Herb Farm in Greensboro, VT. It is fantastically refreshing on a hot day, and perfect to take on a hike or a kayak.

This new small batch release follows on last year’s releases of Fuzz Ball and Troc Star. Fuzz Ball, fermented over Kingston Black pomace, won a Gold Medal in the Dry Heritage Cider category at the Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition, the largest commercial cider competition in the world, while Troc Star, fermented over Vermont grown Riesling grape skins, was named one of America’s Top 10 Ciders in USA Today. Eden produces only 600 – 700 cases of each small batch cider.

Eden’s full line of harvest canned ciders, including their primary line up of Peak Bloom, Deep Cut, Brut Rose and Tree Beard, are produced once a year from a blend of 100% Vermont grown heirloom and tannic apple varieties via traditional winemaking techniques to capture their fullest flavors. The apples are grown by a network of small partner orchards around the state, many of which have historic, decades old trees and grow rare varieties that are well suited to cider production.

Trail Sider will be available starting July 17th at the Shelburne Vineyard tasting room at 6308 Shelburne Rd., Shelburne VT 05842 and the Eden Ciders tasting room at 150 Main Street, Newport VT 05855, and through distribution to stores and restaurants in Vermont and additional states. Trade inquiries should be directed to Riley Duffie – [email protected].
