Bivouac Ciderworks Releases Limited-Edition Cat’s Paw Pumpkin Spice Cider… Earlier than ever

by | Aug 24, 2024

If Starbucks can do it in August, so can Bivouac! It’s officially cider season at Bivouac Ciderworks with the launch of their limited-release, seasonal favorite, “Cat’s Paw” pumpkin spice cider. This is the 6th year for the popular Cat’s Paw pumpkin spice cider from the women-powered San Diego cider pioneer, each year gaining in popularity and distribution. New this year, Bivouac is packaging the pumpkin spice cider in 12-oz cans, available in 4-packs. Cat’s Paw is also available in kegs at exclusive establishments in Southern California and Arizona.

Cat’s Paw features classic pumpkin spice flavors like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, blended with juicy apple, pear, and real pumpkin. Bivouac’s owner, Lara Worm, describes it as “fall in a glass.” It’s a little treat you don’t want to miss. Bivouac’s ciders, handcrafted in the heart of North Park, are less sweet than most commercial ciders consumers have had before, with unexpected twists and refined balanced flavors. Bivouac ciders taste as great at the top of a mountain as they do around a dinner table, paired with a fine meal.

Cat’s Paw pumpkin spice cider is available in 12oz. 4-packs (SRP $12.99) at Bivouac’s locations in North Park and retailers throughout Southern California and Arizona,

including Total Wine & More, Barons Market, Jensen’s Foods, and many small independent retailers. Cat’s Paw is also available in kegs throughout Southern California and Arizona, and for the second year in a row, will be available in outlets at the Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California (The Lamplight lounge and Cozy Cones Motel)

Bivouac Ciderworks taproom & restaurant (3986 30th Street) has been a North Park neighborhood favorite for more than six years, serving “San Diego comfort food,” and a wide variety of ciders, beer, wine, and craft cocktails. Earlier this year, Bivouac expanded their footprint in North Park, opening the 5700 square foot “Adventure Lodge & General Store,” (3980 30th Street) directly adjacent to their original location. The Adventure Lodge features a grand cider tasting bar where guests can partake in a Guided Cider Tasting Experience led by a pommelier (cider expert), or order ciders by the glass or bottle, beer, wine, & food in an upscale tasting room environment. The Adventure Lodge also houses a coffee shop & cafe selling coffee and pastries “for here,” (they don’t use disposable containers) aiming to reduce waste and encourage community engagement, a retail store featuring Bivouac merchandise and other outdoorsy gifts, and a large production facility for their cidermaking on-site, all in a beautiful, yurt-inspired setting with local art installations around every turn.

Bivouac takes cider season very seriously—so seriously, in fact, that Bivouac claims to be “launching fall,” rolling out Cat’s Paw with a lineup of events and fun decorations at their original location and at the new Adventure Lodge, as well as events and tastings around town all season. Join Biv for their 2nd annual Septemberfest (September 28) where they’ll be serving up German-style favorite foods, ciders, beer, and games all day long. October is packed with fun, from their 4th annual Pumpkin Painting Party (October 6), a community costume bar crawl with neighboring breweries (October 26) to the annual adorable (and chaotic!) Pet Costume Contest (October 27th). Mark your calendar—cider season has only just begun!
