Bad Seed Cider, located in the bucolic Hudson Valley, has long had a strong footprint in New York City, and especially in Brooklyn. Getting their start at GrowNYC Farmers Markets throughout the city, the upstart cider company has been growing at an incredibly accelerated rate, with distribution in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. After looking outwards for the past few years, the company is now returning to their New York roots, and will be opening the first ever cider tasting room in Brooklyn. The Bad Seed Brooklyn Tap Room will feature 12 taps of Bad Seed cider — including their flagship Dry Hard Cider which is the first 0g sugar, completely dry cider to be put into a can — and eight rotating taps of New York State craft beer.
Located in burgeoning Crown Heights at 585 Franklin Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Street, the Bad Seed Brooklyn Tap Room will highlight the best that the Hudson Valley and New York City has to offer. Patrons will be able to relax at the thirty foot long wooden bar which stands in gorgeous relief alongside the apple crate covered walls, or outside in the 400 square foot backyard. In addition to 12 taps of Bad Seed cider and eight taps of New York State craft beer, the Bad Seed Brooklyn Tap Room will offer bottle pours of New York State wines and bottle sales of New York State spirits, in addition to growler fills of all the various ciders and beers on tap.
Bad Seed’s Brooklyn Tap Room may be the first of its kind, but it is only the latest in a series of innovative ideas made possible by New York State’s commitment to craft and quality. With the TasteNY initiative — and with the newly expanded farm cidery, brewery, and winery regulations — New York stands at the forefront of the American craft revolution. Bad Seed is opening their Brooklyn Tap Room to coincide with the opening night of New York City’s Cider Week, which runs from October 20th – October 29th.
