Ready the glassware: New York City Cider Week starts today. Back for another year of cider takeovers in the Big Apple, the 10-day affair connects cidermakers from around the state with restaurant, retail and bar buyers as well as thirsty consumers. The trade and drinkers are piqued with educational resources, cider-focused tastings, dinners, classes and more from Oct. 21 through Oct. 30.
More than 20 events will go down in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, with 36 local producers signed up for pouring, drinking and thinking cider. Considering the number of cideries in New York has exploded from eight in 2014 to 24 today, New York City is the concrete jungle where cider dreams are made of.
