Spire Mountain Cider Red Apple

by | Sep 21, 2016

Local legend has it that in the depths of the Cascade Mountain Range of Washington State, there once thrived an enchanted orchard. Rooted into the hillside of a hidden peak, this was hallowed ground for apple growing and cidermaking, heralded by the residents of the region. Although this “lore” might only be part of Spire Mountain Cider‘s origin story, it laid the foundation for cidery’s mantra: to make premium cider, worthy of local praise. Based in Olympia, Washington, just outside the Cascade Mountains, Spire Mountain has been making cider in the United States since 1985, longer than most and with the help of parent brewery Fish Brewing Co.

The flagship cider, Red Apple, is made exclusively from Washington fruit, coming to you in a patently apple-forward sip. The semi-sweet body, which creates the immediate imagery of a Red Delicious Jolly Rancher flavor, is met with mild acidity and an apple tartness in the juicy finish. Quaffable, affable and easily consumable in the six-pack it rode in on.
