Doc’s Draft Hard Framboise Raspberry Cider

For most cideries, the story begins in the orchard. However, for most cideries, that orchard is not an estate property. With Doc’s Draft Hard Cider, they decided to buy the farm first in 1989 and attempt to live the dream. After an abundant apple crop was harvested, the idea of hard cider was formulated and five years later, the cidery opened. Producing wine and cider, the company also launched Hudson Valley’s first distillery since Prohibition and New York’s first fruit micro-distillery. Tying together multiple styles that represent the company’s history, Doc’s put out the Framboise Raspberry cider, a East Coast spin on the traditional style of re-fermenting a cider with fresh raspberries.

Aromatically, raspberry is omnipresent and vibrant, flexing between honeyed Italian soda and berry leaves. The mouthfeel is full and creamy, fizzling out to a fresh and fruity mid-palate, with an off-dry and fleshy finish.
