Cider’s popularity continues to increase, and luckily with that comes more cider, cider and more cider. Drink menus continue to expand and new cider-focused bars keep popping up. If you like cider as much as we do, take a look at one of these new cider bars. In less than a year, this updated selection of bars are now open to the public across North America. From local inspiration to global influence, each differ but have one common ingredient: the apple.

ANXO Cidery & Pintxos Bar || Washington, DC || Aiming to reinvigorate interest in traditional cider, ANXO collaborates with renown cidermakers from historic cider regions to produce and serve ciders of quality and uniqueness. The main focus is to help guests uncover the relatively unknown beauty and history of traditional cider from around the world.

Black Twig Cider House || Durham, NC || This first-of-its-kind cider-focused restaurant features the largest variety of cider throughout the Southeast with a staggering 80 ciders available from around the globe. Stop by on Thursday, Friday or Saturday for a $4 or $5 bottle or draft of the bartender’s choice.

ORCHARD & THE SEA || Vancouver, British Colubmia || Although in theory a pop-up, Vancouver’s popular Birds & the Beets will moonlight on the weekends as Orchard and the Sea, the international city’s first craft cider bar. In collaboration with Txotx Imports, the Gastown neighborhood restaurant transforms every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night into a full-blown cider bar that hosts seasonal tasting dinners, educational seminars, “meet the maker” nights and more.

Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen || Toronto, Ontario || More than a home to a number of craft beer bars and rapper Drake, Toronto now has its own cider bar to feed its hungry cider scene. The new bar opened during Ontario Cider Week this spring and serves more than 75 ciders from “Ontario and around the world.”

The Northman || Chicago || Reigning as Chicago’s first cider-focused pub and bistro, the entire team has a passion for the beverage. After visits to the source of the products they emulate, such as to Michigan, England, France and Spain, the full concept for the establishment was born: a pub and bistro that would draw influence from all acclaimed cider producing regions of the world, not just in cider, but with food as well.
